Proof-of-Deepfake
Detects deepfake videos and proves it: the system finds the original video on social media and shows the two side by side, with the upload date and channel.
Built with Juhi Gajjar, Kandarp Joshi and Dirghanshu Patel at LDRP-ITR, guided by Prof. Akash Brahmbhatt.
Build the library, offline
Videos are collected from Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. From each one, frame features, shot boundaries and audio features are extracted.
One signature per video
The features are summarised into a compact signature that describes the video’s structure, and the signatures are indexed for fast search.
A query arrives
The suspect video goes through the same extraction and gets its own signature.
Search for near-duplicates
The index returns the videos whose signatures are closest, including partial matches where only a section was reused.
Picture and sound, checked together
Most detectors look at one or the other. Analysing both at once lowers false alarms, because a real clip agrees with itself.
Show the proof
Input and original are shown side by side, with the original’s upload date and channel.
